Helping Jak Launch a Jewelry Line!
We are very excited to introduce Thanathip, also known as Jak! She helps to take care of her elderly mother and two of her three daughters. As frequently happens in her country, Jak went to the city to find work when she was about 13 years old. She did this for the very noble purpose of helping to take care of her family.
Coming from a small village with minimal education and no marketable skills, like so many before and after her, she ended up selling herself. Once she entered that life she was stuck. She never received an education and to this day she can barely read or write. She has never developed job skills that will allow her to escape her circumstances. Jak is now faced with the reality that she will not be able to continue this work forever. In cases like hers, necessity often dictates that one or more of her daughters would follow in her footsteps, but Jak wants to change this!
We are helping Jak launch a small business making jewelry. We recently, placed an order for 1,100 sets of earrings and she is working diligently to fill our order! She is learning to make jewelry and we intend to help her improve her skills and develop her line. In fact, we invest 40% of our profits in helping women like Jak start and grow their businesses!
You can help Jak change her life and the lives of her family members by purchasing her earrings! They will be available in a few weeks. In the meantime, be sure to sign up for our newsletter! As a thank you, we will send you a 20% coupon code prior to launching the natural soap and jewelry lines which are being made by women who are involved in or vulnerable to sex trafficking.
